What's a 3 x 9 Matrix? A matrix is just a payment structure. One easy way to visualize this is to imagine you are standing in a row of seats in a stadium. As you make your first three sales, these three new subscribers walk into the stadium (your "matrix) and stand in the row below you (We'll call them your "front line.") And each of those three people will do the same—as they make sales, they'll have three "front line" people standing in the row below them, which means your second row has 3x3 subscribers, and so on.
